Dr. Chewang Norbu Bhutia

A veterinarian from Ravangla, Sikkim, Chewang saw a future in the fibres and skills around him. In 2017, he began working with Angora rabbit farmers to create an additional source of income.

That work led him to Sikkim’s weavers and indigenous Banpala sheep wool. Crafted Fibers grew from a simple intention: keep local craft alive by making it a lasting livelihood.

Many hands. Shared possibility.

Women artisans and self-help groups are at the heart of our work. Through training, shared design and access to markets, traditional skills become opportunities to earn.

Across Sikkim, we work alongside weaving communities to support livelihoods and pass their knowledge to the next generation.

04 / From fibre to fabric

Natural fibres. A human touch.

Angora, yak and sheep wool, silk, hemp and nettle connect our textiles to the Himalayas. Skilled hands card, spin and weave; natural dyeing brings colour from plants, roots and minerals.

Made with care and minimal machinery, each piece carries the character of its fibre and the hand of its maker.
