A closer look

Materials & Making

Locally sourced dye is used by hand to colour the yarn before weaving. The hank is prepared for warp-making, and the threads are individually arranged to form a careful foundation on the loom. The double-diamond weave is then built across the cloth, with the checked effect planned through the meeting of warp and weft colours. Each pass adds another part of the pattern until the final weave completes a muffler shaped by natural colour and skilled hands.
