Materials & Making

The Angora and Merino fibres are prepared and spun into yarn, with suitable yarns coloured using naturally sourced dyes where required. The yarn is wound into hanks, dried, and prepared for the warp. Each thread is carefully aligned before the small-diamond structure is woven by hand on the loom. The checks emerge through the considered arrangement of the weave, followed by finishing to soften the fabric and define its pattern.
