Materials & Making

For this Eri-silk and Angora blended stole, locally sourced dyes is used by hand to bring colors into the yarn. The yarn is prepared from the hank and readied for warp-making, with every thread aligned separately before the loom is set. The pine-twill pattern is then formed through the measured crossing of warp and weft. As the final rows are woven, the textured fabric takes shape, pairing a natural dye story with a distinctive, handcrafted surface.
