A closer look

Materials & Making

The Angora and Merino fibres are spun into yarn and wound into hanks, with naturally sourced dyes used only where colour is needed. Natural fibre shades are kept in their original state. Once the yarn is prepared and dried, the warp is set thread by thread on the loom. The artisan builds the straight-twill structure and arranges the crossings to form the checks. After handloom weaving, the stole is carefully finished so the pattern sits neatly and the fabric falls with a soft, even drape.
