Materials & Making

Angora and Merino fibres are prepared, spun, and wound into hanks before weaving. Naturally sourced dyes are used for yarn that needs colour, while natural fibre shades remain as they are. The hanks are dried and prepared for warping, and each thread is placed carefully to maintain the vertical alignment. On the handloom, the weaver forms the chevron structure and develops the stripe pattern through precise yarn placement. The stole is then finished to sharpen the lines and preserve a comfortable drape.
