A closer look

Materials & Making

After the Angora and Merino fibres are prepared, they are spun into yarn and wound into hanks. Any dyed yarn is coloured with dyes collected from natural sources, then dried and readied for warping. The warp threads are individually arranged to support the wave structure. On the handloom, the weaver guides the yarn into a flowing, wave-like pattern while keeping the overall design plain and uncluttered. Final finishing helps the stole settle into a soft, graceful drape.
