Materials & Making

Locally sourced natural colors is prepared and applied to the yarn by hand. The dyed hank is carefully spun and prepared for warp-making; each warp thread is aligned individually before the yarn is woven by hand in a straight-twill structure. The fabric emerges slowly from skilled, patient work, carrying the natural color pigment of the plant into the finished stole.
